Clinical massage is a specialised approach to treatment that combines hands-on therapy with an understanding of pain, movement and the nervous system. I work with people experiencing acute or chronic pain, injuries, hypermobility and long-term health conditions like fibromyalgia, ME or CFS.

If you have pain that has become persistent, or an injury has never quite settled, just feel like your body simply doesn't function as you would like. Whatever brings you here, treatment is tailored to your individual needs.

No two bodies are the same, so no two treatments are the same either.

Clinical Massage

We discuss your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and goals before exploring how your body moves and functions. Depending on your needs, this may include postural observation, movement assessment and orthopaedic or nerve testing.

The aim is not simply to identify where you hurt, but to understand why the problem may be persisting and what factors might be influencing it.

Lasting change rarely happens on the treatment couch alone.

Rehabilitation may include movement strategies, breathwork, mindfulness and exercises designed to help you build
longer-term change.

The goal is to help you develop the tools you need to care for your body and live without pain.

Treatment is tailored to the person in front of me rather than following a fixed routine.

Drawing on a range of approaches including clinical massage, myofascial release, movement therapy and pain education, treatment is adapted to your needs and goals.

We work together to reduce pain, improve movement and help you feel better.

An initial appointment at my space in Macclesfield is 90 mins. This longer session is essential if you have chronic pain, hypermobility, or an injury because it gives us time for a thorough consultation, assessment, treatment and discussion of aftercare. 60 min sessions are avialable for people who are pain and injury free and wanting maintenance work.
