Kinesiology Taping

Taping is not just a therapeutic modality for athletes, but can help prevent injury, reduce the pain of injuries and swelling, improve circulation, improve functional movement, positioning and range of motion. It has a wide variety of practical uses that can help ease the symptoms of a wide range of problems:

The therapeutic benefits of Kinesology Taping are arise from its ability to provide muscular stabilisation and support, and stimulate subcutaneous blood flow and lymphatic drainage. The tape can help to relieve pain by alleviating pressure and irritation on nerve fibers and pain receptors, therefore promoting healing by its direct action on muscle and circulatory physiology. If you come to me for a massage or myofascial release session and I feel that taping would be beneficial, I  will discuss this with you and it will be included as part of the session. If you want taping for a specific reason e.g. preparation for a sporting event, I offer shorter sessions  of 20 min duration which involve a full consultation, ROM testing and application of tape.
